These Terms and Conditions govern subscriptions to Dose of Perspective provided by Purple Ideas GmbH.

Dose of Perspective is a monthly subscription for the delivery of a physical envelope containing a travel story and accompanying printed materials.
The contents may include:
A reproduction of an original typewritten travel story
A printed photo collage
A map connected to the journey
A postcard
A reflection prompt or personal challenge
The specific content, destination, design, format, paper, number of pages, and arrangement may vary between editions.
Photographs, examples, and mockups displayed on the website illustrate the general nature of the subscription. Minor differences in colour, dimensions, layout, printing, and presentation may occur.
The presentation of Dose of Perspective on our website is an invitation to place an order and does not itself constitute a binding contractual offer.
Checkout is provided through a Stripe-hosted Payment Link. Before completing checkout, you can review and correct the information you entered.
By selecting the final payment or subscription button in Stripe Checkout, you submit a binding order for a paid monthly subscription.
The subscription contract is concluded when we accept your order by sending an order or subscription confirmation electronically. Payment confirmation may be sent directly by Stripe.
The contract language is English.
You must be at least 18 years old or otherwise legally capable of entering into the subscription contract.
Dose of Perspective costs €15 per month.
The price displayed at checkout includes applicable VAT and worldwide standard shipping unless expressly stated otherwise before the order is completed.
You are charged immediately when you join. This first payment reserves your first eligible edition.
Payments are processed through Stripe using the payment method selected during checkout. We do not receive or store your complete card details.
Dose of Perspective letters are normally dispatched from Düsseldorf, Germany, around the last day of each month. Each mailing contains the following month’s edition.
If you join before the current month’s mailing has been dispatched, your first payment normally reserves the next month’s edition.
For example:
Join and pay on August 20, the September edition is dispatched around August 31.
Your subscription renews on September 20, the October edition is dispatched around September 30.
If you join after the current month’s mailing has already been prepared or dispatched, your subscription will begin with the following eligible edition.
The current joining deadline and planned dispatch information may be displayed on our website. Dispatch dates may change slightly because of weekends, public holidays, postal-service availability, production requirements, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

The subscription begins when the contract is concluded and continues for an indefinite period. There is no minimum commitment beyond an edition for which payment has already been processed.
After your first payment, the subscription renews automatically each month on the same calendar date on which you originally joined.
If a corresponding date does not exist in a particular month, Stripe may process the renewal on the last available day of that month.
Each successful monthly payment covers the next eligible edition that has not yet been dispatched.
Your individual renewal date can be viewed through Stripe’s secure customer portal.
If a payment is unsuccessful, Stripe may attempt to collect it again and may notify you of the failed payment.
An edition will not be dispatched unless the corresponding payment has been completed successfully.
If payment is recovered after a mailing has already been prepared or dispatched, your subscription may resume with the following eligible edition.
We may suspend or cancel a subscription if payment remains unsuccessful. This does not affect any claims relating to payments that were already due.
Letters are sent using standard untracked post to the destinations available at checkout.
Estimated delivery times after dispatch are:
Within Germany: 2 to 3 business days
International destinations: 2 to 6 weeks
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. International delivery may be affected by local postal services, customs processing, public holidays, weather, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
The statutory rules concerning delivery, transfer of risk, defective goods, and consumer rights remain unaffected.
You must provide a complete and accurate delivery address during checkout.
Please check the address shown in your subscription confirmation and update it through Stripe’s secure customer portal before the relevant mailing is prepared.
Address changes submitted after an edition has been prepared or dispatched will apply to a later edition.
If a letter cannot be delivered or is lost because the address provided was incomplete or incorrect, we may ask you to cover the additional postage required to send a replacement. This does not apply where the delivery problem was caused by us.
You can cancel your subscription at any time without a minimum commitment.
To avoid another payment, the cancellation must be completed before your next renewal is processed.
You can cancel by selecting Cancel Subscription in the footer of our website and completing the cancellation process. You may also manage and cancel your subscription through Stripe’s secure customer portal.
Cancellation prevents future renewal payments. It does not reverse a payment that has already been processed.
If you cancel after paying for an edition, you will still receive that edition according to our regular dispatch schedule. No further payments will be collected after the cancellation becomes effective.

Consumers may have a statutory right to withdraw from the subscription within 14 days without giving a reason.
For subscriptions involving regular deliveries of physical goods, the withdrawal period generally begins when the consumer, or a third party nominated by the consumer who is not the carrier, receives the first letter.

Cancelling the subscription is different from exercising the statutory right of withdrawal. An ordinary cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically create a right to a refund for a payment already processed.
This does not limit statutory rights concerning defective, damaged, incorrectly delivered, or undelivered goods.
If a letter has not arrived within the reporting period stated in our Shipping Policy, or arrives seriously damaged, contact jen[at]doseofperspective.com.
Please provide your name, delivery address, the affected edition, and, in the case of damage, photographs of the envelope and its contents where reasonably possible.
If a correctly addressed letter appears to have been lost in transit, or arrives seriously damaged, we will review the circumstances and provide an appropriate remedy.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
The stories, photographs, collages, maps, postcards, designs, branding, and other original materials included in Dose of Perspective or displayed on our website may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property laws.
Your subscription provides you with a physical copy for your personal use and enjoyment.
Unless permitted by law or expressly authorised by us, you may not:
Reproduce or scan the materials for distribution
Publish substantial portions online
Sell or distribute digital reproductions
Use the materials commercially
Remove copyright or ownership notices
Present the materials as your own work
These restrictions do not prevent the lawful resale or gifting of an original physical copy that you own.
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and in any other circumstances where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.
In cases of ordinary negligence, we are liable where we breach an essential contractual obligation whose fulfilment is necessary for the proper performance of the contract and on whose fulfilment the customer may ordinarily rely.
In such cases, liability is limited to damage that was foreseeable and typical when the contract was concluded.
The statutory rights of consumers concerning defective goods remain unaffected.
We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as postal disruption, strikes, natural events, severe weather, war, government measures, customs delays, or significant technical failures affecting essential service providers.
If such circumstances affect a mailing, we will take reasonable steps to limit the disruption and resume performance when reasonably possible.
If delivery becomes permanently impossible, the customer’s statutory rights, including any applicable right to reimbursement, remain unaffected.

Payment and subscription information is processed through Stripe. Website hosting and certain email communications are provided through MailerLite.
The price shown at checkout applies when the subscription is concluded.
Price changes will not apply retroactively to payments already processed.
We will inform existing subscribers in advance of any proposed price change. A price change affecting an existing subscription will apply only where permitted by law and after any consent required by law has been obtained. Customers may cancel before the changed price takes effect.
We may update these Terms for future subscriptions. Changes affecting existing subscriptions will apply only where legally permitted and after appropriate notice.
The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
If you are a consumer who ordinarily resides outside Germany, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections provided by the law of your country of residence.
We are neither willing nor legally obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Before pursuing formal proceedings, you are welcome to contact us at jen[at]doseofperspective.com so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
If an individual provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be replaced by the applicable statutory rules.
Any individual agreements made with a customer take precedence over these Terms.
