WHAT IS A MAIL CLUB?
It’s a monthly subscription to a real envelope that arrives in your mailbox! Think old-school human to human communication. Like, the kind our grandparents used!
The point is to slow down for a moment and exchange the doom-scrolling with a real 3D experience.
HOW DOES THE MAIL CLUB WORK?
Join and pay €15 to reserve your first edition. Letters are sent from Düsseldorf, Germany, around the end of each month.
If you join before the current month’s mailing is sent, you’ll receive the following month’s edition. After that, your subscription renews monthly on the same date you originally joined.
For example: Join and pay on August 20, and your September edition will be sent around August 31. Your next payment will be taken on September 20 for the October edition, which will be sent around September 30.

MEET THE TRAVELERS BEHIND THE ENVELOPE
Hey, we’re Jen and Yvonne, happily married, and living in Düsseldorf, Germany.
We are curious travelers, enthusiastic observers, and the two people folding things into your monthly envelope.
Yvonne notices the world in photographs.
Long before Dose of Perspective, Yvonne worked on cruise ships and had the opportunity to see many different parts of the world. Those years deepened her curiosity about places, people, and all the small details that make somewhere feel different.
After many years of exploration, Yvonne returned to Germany in 2013, and met Jen in 2014.
Today, she continues exploring with her camera in hand, whether we are traveling internationally or road-tripping with our campervan closer to home.
Her unedited photographs form the visual heart of every edition. They show the destination through her eyes, including the details most people might walk straight past.
Jen collects the thoughts behind the stories.
Jen loves observing how people live, what they value, and the many different ways there are to look at the world.
After growing up in Guatemala City, she moved to Germany in 2012. Learning to build a life in another country made her even more curious about the assumptions we carry, the things we consider “normal,” and how differently the same situation can be understood depending on where we come from.
Travel gives her more opportunities to observe and absorb these different perspectives. A conversation, a cultural difference, an unexpected difficulty, or a tiny detail can stay in her mind long after a trip is over. Eventually, some of those moments become the reflections inside Dose of Perspective.
Jen writes each original story on a mechanical typewriter. The connection is personal: she writes on the same typewriter model she learned to use back in her young days in Guatemala City, bringing a small piece of her earlier life into every new story.
Jen tells you what made her stop and think. Yvonne shows you what made her stop and look. Together, their perspectives create a fuller picture of the place behind each story.

Each month, you’ll receive an envelope containing a faithful reproduction of an original travel story written on Jen’s mechanical typewriter, a collage of Yvonne’s raw and unedited photographs, a map showing where the story took place and the route we followed, and a self-produced postcard offering a clue about next month’s destination. Together, the pieces create one complete travel story for you to open, explore, and keep.
Dose of Perspective costs €15 per month. Your first payment is taken immediately when you join, and worldwide standard shipping is included.

You’ll be charged €15 immediately when you join. This first payment reserves your first eligible Dose of Perspective edition. After that, your subscription renews automatically each month on the same calendar date on which you originally joined. For example: Join and pay on August 20, the September edition is sent around August 31. Your next payment is taken on September 20, the October edition is sent around September 30. Payments continue monthly on the 20th until you cancel. Your individual renewal date can be viewed through your secure Stripe customer portal.
Letters are normally sent around the last day of each month. Each mailing contains the following month’s edition. If you join before the current month’s mailing is sent, you’ll receive the next month’s edition. If you join after that mailing has already been sent, your subscription will begin with the following edition. For example: Join and pay on August 20, your September edition is sent around August 31. Join after the August mailing has already been sent, your first letter will be the October edition, sent around September 30. Once your letter has been sent, its arrival time will depend on the destination and local postal service. International letters naturally take longer to reach their new homes.
Once your Dose of Perspective has been sent, estimated delivery times are: Within Germany: 2 to 3 business days and for International: 2 to 6 weeks. International delivery times vary depending on the destination and local postal service. Since these envelopes are traveling the old-fashioned way, they may occasionally need a little extra time to complete their journey.
Part of the charm of snail mail is the anticipation, but occasionally a letter may be delayed or get lost along the way. Before contacting us, please check your confirmation email to make sure the delivery address is correct. A small typo could be the reason. If your letter has not arrived within two weeks of dispatch in Germany, or within six weeks internationally, email us at jen[at]doseofperspective.com. We’ll look into it with you and, if the letter appears to be lost, arrange a replacement.
No. To keep the worldwide price accessible, envelopes travel as traditional stamped mail without tracking. If your letter has not arrived after the expected international delivery window, contact us and we will help.
Yes. You can update your delivery address through your secure Stripe customer portal. Instructions for accessing it are included in your welcome email. Please update your address before the upcoming monthly mailing is prepared. Changes made after an edition has been prepared or sent will apply to a later edition.
Yes. Dose of Perspective is a monthly subscription. After your first payment, your subscription renews automatically on the same calendar date on which you originally joined. Each successful payment covers your next eligible edition. You can cancel at any time before your next renewal.
Yes. You can cancel at any time through your secure Stripe customer portal. To avoid another payment, cancel before your next renewal date. If payment for an edition has already been collected, you will still receive that edition, and your subscription will end afterward. Instructions for accessing and managing your subscription are included in your welcome email.
